"Texas Barndiminiums", Designed For Living Quarters!

Building living quarters in metal buildings has become very popular in the last 10 years. The building that WDMB offers and installs is metal and the living quarters that the customer will build out is wood. The area where metal needs to transition to wood is at the windows, doors, and porches.

PORCHES - Are very popular in the metal building/living quarter market. Because of cost savings, many of our customers prefer we delete the metal wall underneath the porch. This way the customer can frame up this area with wood and install windows and doors without dealing with metal framing. The wall can be finished out with hardy cement board or stone if desired. This gives you that true house look when you walk in the house from the porch side.

WINDOWS - Most of our customers choose to leave out the wall under the porch as mentioned above. This allows them to install conventional house windows in their wood framing under the porch. If you need any windows frames on the remaining metal building walls, we can provide window frames and install your windows in the metal building wall for $300 per window.

WALKDOORS - If you would like to use a conventional house door on a metal building wall, we can provide the customer with a frame out for $500. You provide a framed door unit which includes a threshold, and WDMB will create a steel frame out and install you walkdoor in the metal building wall.

PLUMBING - Our recommended concrete man can coordinate with the customer’s plumber to make sure your plumbing is installed before the concrete slab is poured.

INSULATION - Is normally installed during the process of the living quarter build out. Basically the customer insulates after the living quarters wood framing is in place, just like a conventional house. We have a lot of feed back from our customers saying that having your living quarters built inside a metal building is proven to be very energy efficient and cost effective.
